Is sustainable tourism a good or a bad thing?

Advantages

  • The Culture stays intact
  • The money goes to the locals and isn't lost through leakage
  • Its the locals choice to stay at their house or hotel
  • Local people will be more welcoming to tourists if the tourists are respecting there culture and actually trying to look after their village or country

Disadvantages

  • You don't have package holidays so holidays are expensive

Evaluation

All in all, I believe that sustainable tourism is a good thing and better than the use of multinational hotels and package holidays because there is no leakage and the money goes the local people, using sustainable tourism means that there is no loss of culture when the tourists visit the country
