Hydroponics

Hydroponics

Advantages

  • Mineral levels can be controlled more accurately
  • Diseases can be controlled more effectively

Disadvantages

  • Lots of fertilisers need to be added
  • There's no soil to anchor the roots and support the plants

Evaluation

This method is good in areas that have barren soil as it means they can still grow crops but in order for it to be used universally it would need to reduce its number of fertilisers as it's not cost effective.
