	Similarities Indians Did not fight to control land because it belonged to the Great Spirit Highly decorated weapons Did not fight to kill becasue few of them and they were needed to hunt. Battles were a game with strict rules (but quickly learnt that whites fought differently) Great respect for skills on a horse Sometimes scalped dead enemies because believed that this improved spirit of scalper and prevented "scalpee" from going to "Happy Hunting Ground"	Differences Whites Fought to gain control of land Weapons designed to kill Hundreds of thousands in armies so fought to kill, Individuals unimportant. 	Overall comparison They both fought very differently and had almost opposite beliefs which is why the Indian's way of life was destroyed.
