Advantages

  • The characteristics chosen from GM crops can increase the yield which produces more food.
  • In developing areas they can often lack nutrients in their diets so they can be engineered so the nutrients is present in the crops.
  • They can be grown in particular areas these days without any problems.

Disadvantages

  • It is said that if we start to grow GM crops then it would affect the number of wild flowers that live within that areas and around the crops.
  • Some people say that they aren't safe and are concerned that they are unsure of what they are actually eating that may affect their health.
  • These genes that have been transplanted may get out into the natural environment.

Evaluation

We can use GM crops to produce crops that are lacking particular characteristics which may benefit human health but people are unsure yet for this to be true.Using these really depends on the people producing them as depending on their purposes of their crops depends on if they use this technique.
