evaluating the issues with making ethanol with fermination

Advantages

  • is 'carbon neutral' as ethanol is fermented from sugar beet/cane and the  amount of carbon dioxide it absorbed while growing is the same amount of carbon dioxide it let out during photosynthesis
  • A renewable source
  • More sustainable compared to hydration
  • Little energy required

Disadvantages

  • Batch process
  • Doesn't produce pure ethanol- needs treatment done to it
  • labour intensive
  • slow
  • uses plabns which could be used as food
