  • the relationship of trust between a doctor and his patient could be lost.
  • doctors ethics compromised as the doctor takes the Hippocratic oath which means he/she is there to preserve life.
  • there are alternatives to euthanasia such as palliative care and hospices.
  • it is not for doctors to play God.
  • Life is a gift from God and only God can take it away.

Evaluation

Euthanasia is the act of bringing about an easy death and for arranging the death for a person who is suffering an incurable illness to die as painlessly as possible. A strength of euthanasia is that it allows the person to die with dignity. A weakness would be putting pressure on people at a vulnerable stage in their life.
