  • Ability to order goods 24/7
  • Greater choice of goods from a global market place
  • Cost savings are passed to customers with cheaper goods
  • Allows disabled people to do their own shopping
  • No travelling is needed as goods are ordered from home


  • Problems with fraudulent sites
  • Customers are worried about the security of their bank details
  • Sometimes there is alot of hassle when wanting to return goods
  • Harder to assess the quality of goods before ordering them
  • Loss of social pleasure
  • Hidden costs - postage, VAT


Benefical for people who do not have the time to go out and get products - more convient for a full time worker. Security is an issue which causes people not want to use e-commerce facilities and therefore it is not fully utilised.
