CAT Scan Pros and Cons

Advantages

Create very good images - lots of detail
Can create a 3D scan from lots of slices
Diagnoses conditions with out need for surgery - such a brain tumours

Disadvantages

More dangerous/radiation than X-ray
More detail = more radiation exposed to the patient
Higher risk of ionisation - leading to cancer

Evaluation

CAT Scans create very good and detailed images without the need for surgery however this means the patient is exposed to much more radiation which causes ionisation leading to cancer.
