work experience?

Hi everyone
I'd like to be a doctor when i am older and recently was told you have to do LOTS of work experience.

I was wondering how much work experience is necessary, and how long you do it for- is a week in the october holidays adequate? How much is enough?

I am hoping to apply for work experience in an opticians, gp's sugery, pharmacy
and also maybe a long term volunteering thing.

Please reply if anyones got an answer to my questions or if anyones facing the same problems here!!

This book will answer nearly every question you have - it tells you about personal statements, work experience, research on current topics, interviews and more! It is really one of the best buys you can ever have.

Do you know the old English saying ' One bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush'? You know being ambitious is one thing but dreaming the impossible is another (not about your ambition coz it's realistic)....I mean maybe you could do noe at a time and not all at once just in case you get overloaded and loose morale.

....Volunteering is a fantastic idea coz I know someone who passed A'levels with flying colours and applied for Cambridge University because (they told her) that she did not even have 70hours that she'd sacrificed you should not abandon the idea of volunteering...

Hope I've helped.
