Whats the best way to remember fomulas for mathematics?

  • 0 votes

I'm retaking my mathematics Alevel and am finding it hard to remember any of the important formulas that won't be given during the exam. I dislike writing out the formulas several times as this was recommended by one of my maths teachers, but i found i still can't remeber them. Is there any different ways to record and remember formulas or key facts? Also as i constantly worry about failing I give up real quick when faced with a challange, is there anything that would help with that?

Have you heard of the photosynthesis song? YouTube seems to be a great place to find wacky songs for formulas and equations

I find that if you recite the formula to yourself in a sort of rhyming scale or perhaps in a chant, or iambic pentameter rhythm, the formulae becomes more memorable. Good luck, do let us know what the best method is once you've found it! x

Try making something out of it.

I would agree with your teacher. But if you don't like writing out then record yourself saying the formulas and play it back, like when you are sleeping or something. Lol it sounds silly but hopefully it should stick in your brain when you go through them in the morning. Hope it helped :)

Use flashcards

For example, on one side write the name of the formula and on the other side write the formula itself and just re-read and repeat where ever you go

Make sure you review them too!
