What sort of structure should i follow? AS Level

  • 0 votes

My English language exam is next week and i haven't learnt how to structure an exam answer yet. The questions will be a grouping texts and how power is demonstrated.

Is there any specific way to answer or a better way to structure it?

Thank you.

There's no specific way to answer either question. However, there's no need to worry about introductions or conclusions, just make sure you talk about purpose, audience, register, context etc. in the text. In categorising texts just have separate paragraphs for separate points/pairings and analyse them before going onto the next. For Language and power/gender/technology give a brief introduction then begin analysing, bringing in different theorists/etc. as you do.

I can show you some model answers/own work I've done if you'd like?

Check Rebecca Woodington's post - I wrote on there how you could group your texts, I've simplfied it and made it as brief as much as I could... Good luck! :)
