What is the test for a carbohydrate?

What can be the test for detecting carbohydrates in a food sample.

Do you mean the starch test using iodine solution - starch is carbohydrate, there is also the glucose test using benedicts solution which is also a carb as you know.

I can't go into detail right not (soz got revision 4 nother subject) but basically if starch is present iodine solution will turn from yellow-orange to blue/black, and if glucose is present benedicts solution should turn from blue to brick red.

Search these tests on get revising they probably have some resources.
