What is the resolution of an electron microscope? and do both transmission and scanning microscopes have the same resolution?

Resolution is basically how clear it the image looks - ( the ability to distinguish between to lines close together). TEM's have a higher resolution than SEM's. Electron microscopes in general have a higher resolution than Light microscopes.This is because the electron beams have a much shorter wavelength and can therefore pass through two very small objects contrary to a light wave which is longer..
