What is the best way to revise for exams?

I know some people read and memorise, others write notes in colour..etc but which way is the best to revise?

i create summary notes on my laptop for each section so like the bullet points act as triggers, i normally put in pictures as well but it depends what subject it's for. For maths i create some summary notes but its mainly just past papers :)

When you revise, the whole point is to absorb it in 

What i do is write the revision notes ONLY when I know it fully (ie not looking in the book and copying) 

Teach yourself and pretend you are a teacher and a student at the same time and that way, it will stay in you forever
