What is a truncated spur?

Is it a cut off river or a cut off piece of land? :S

think of interlocking spurs in a river valley truncated spurs are basically these which have been eroded by glaciers moving down a old river valley

Formation of a truncated spur: An interlocking spur is found at a river valley (v-shaped), which is typically calved out by a glacier in the process of erosion. Afterwards, a truncated spur will remain.
