What are population pyramids?... confused...

population pyramids are charts used to show the distrubution of population of a country through different age groups, so you can tell what age group within a country has the largest/smallest population. you can also tell, from them if the country is rich or poor, what the life expectancy is, what the infant mortality rate is, whether there is a aging population or not, and how the structure of a population changes over time.

if you want anymore help just ask. I spent ages doing these in yr10.

this is a population pyramid for germany which as a ageing population, you can see there are generally more elderly people than younger people.

this is a population pyramid for mozambique, they are poor and have a low life expectancy, a high birth rate and a high rate of population growth
