Here is a typical review of the show (the general consensus was quite negative) :P

'Celebrity diving competition Splash! has been slammed by TV fans – some even saying it has plunged television to “a new low”.

Yet despite the spluttering feedback, Saturday night’s first episode still pulled in more than 6 million viewers for ITV1.

Splash! sees Olympic star Tom Daley train 15 celebrities to dive in front of judges – Team GB diving coach Andy Banks, Olympic silver medal winning diver Leon Taylor and comedienne Jo Brand.

But the first show, in which funnyman Omid Djalili and Benidorm’s Jake Canuso went through, was given a drubbing on Twitter.

Presenter Tim Lovejoy said: “What’s going on? Is the joke on me? Am I being filmed on my sofa? #splash. Did they ever explain why Jo Brand is a judge?”

West Bromwich Albion goalie Ben Foster tweeted: “This could be the worst/most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen on my television.”

And Cold Feet star John Thomson called it a “new low for television”.

Next week, model Caprice, Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, and reality star Joey Essex will dive for a place in the show’s semi-final.

Although the peak figures of 6.1 million were way off X Factor’s 9 million viewers, Splash! was still the highest rating entertainment show on Saturday night.

But it failed to satisfy some TV fans. Ted Medhurst tweeted: “TV really hit rock bottom with Splash last night #purerubbish.”

Another added: “Jo Brand judging diving is like Tulisa judging a singing competition.”'

I once tried to jump off a board that was about 50cm above the normal pool height and I found it really hard - let alone a 10m board.
