Thinking of dropping Chemistry AS???

  • 0 votes

I'm currently taking Maths with Stats, Biology, Chemistry and RS. Chemistry is challenging and I'm thinking of dropping it, would I still be able to get a career in the science/medicine field without Chemistry. Or should I drop RS to focus on the 3 main subjects??

If I was you I would personally drop RS because a majority of Unversities want you to have Chemistry and another science subject. If you did drop Chemistry you would have to get to medicine through graduate level by doing a degree. Keep in mind that the degree that will be the most likely to get you get into medicine would be medicinal biochemistry/ biomedicine which also requires Chemistry. So unless your interest is in Biology i.e. genetics, microbiology etc you should keep chemistry just so that you have more choices about the courses you want to apply to.

Good Luck in whatever you chose and trust me it gets easier.

I would agree with you if you decide to drop RS. Although interesting, it would make no difference when going for medicine so I'd spend that time on the other subjects :)

Dont forget work experience, a good PS and interview, good luck! :)
