The Best way to revise Chemistry (AQA)

Showing 1 to 13 of 13

I am currently trying to revise and having SERIOUS issues finding the best way to revise. Biology is much simpler to revise for it just involves LOTS of notes and flashcards etc...

Can anyone help me with good ways to revise Chemistry?

Cheers :)!

What about diagrams?

And, you could label the processes and the outcomes, etc. This way works for me for Chemistry or Physics.:)

i find using the CGP revision books really useful.

lookin through the specification, so you know what to learn, and then going over it with the book, or your own work. and then at the end of everythin, go through some past papers and mark yourself afterwards to get better at exam techniques and how to answer, and get the gist of what the questions will be like :)

Thank you very much for the responses!

My textbook is good for lots of questions. I haven't touched my CGP revision guide so I'll do that.

Think I will use diagrams for the mechanisms I have to learn.

Diagrams are very good. Also, why don't you practice questions. Past papers really are key!

Check out the AQA Specification and Mark Schemes - that way you know exactly how the AQA want you to word you answer. It's very good for learning definitions and processes. Plus the Spec tells you what you need to know, and so it stops you from learning stuff you don't!

Thanks for the Biology tip but I am doing A-Level biology :)

Thank you the link! :)

cue cards really help me! just keep going over them loads and it'll help you remember everything:)

i find biology harder than chemistry but that is probably just me...

it depends on your learning style. i copy the revision guide/specifcation out in my own words...

If you're a visual learner like me drawing pictures works for me especially with chemical equations. Drawing little circles to represent each molecule helps me to balance the equation.

try linking content from different topics together. instead of memorizing them in a sequence by topics, memorize them like a mindmap/spidermap. you can even draw one out!

and I like to do practices first before I actually revise, so that I'll know which parts need more revision.
