Terms of Use

During exam time, and within range of an important exam (one or two days away) there is to be no idle chat in the live chat. It's not the time, nor the place to do it. This channel is for serious revision.

If there's nobody else on, then no problem. Chat away, to yourself. But don't let yourself be the reason someone else is disadvantaged in their exam.

So, here's a few rules/ terms of use.

1. NO SODDING PREDICTIONS.

If you make a prediction about an exam's content. Get out. Seriously. Don't make me have to kick your sorry ***, because I will.

Do NOT hedge your bets on an exam containing XYZ because it could so easily be about ABC. Revise A-Z and don't leave anything out. Just trust me, it's screwed me over before not being fully prepared, and I don't want it to happen to you.

2. No pointless chatter. Seriously. If I come on to discuss and revise crime and deviance and there's someone on about the most recent villa or arsenal match, you're outta here.

3. If someone wants help - don't you dare ignore them. I know it's hard to keep up sometimes, but try and respond to them at least. Even "I'll be riiiight with you" is fine! Just acknowledge their presence. Don't make anyone ever feel left out.

4. Have fun! This isn't supposed to be a stressed out place. I want you guys to feel relaxed and more at home here, the main chat's too big and frenzied and makes people frustrated. You've been invited here to relax and concentrate more, make use of it.

5. DON'T freak out! If you feel over the top and can't handle it, close the web-browser, go and get yourself a drink and maybe something to nibble on and chill out for five or ten minutes, then come back on feeling refreshed and invigorated. You'll be more help to someone else, and you'll find it easier to learn yourself.

I'm not nearly as strict as I've just made myself out to be, I just want you guys to be the best you can be.

Tip: Try explaining things simply. Einstein had a great many awesome quotes but my favourite by far is;

"If you can't explain it simply, you don't yet understand it well enough."

Let nothing stop you, because

"The only limits in your life are the ones you set for yourself." - Celestine Chua

Much love.
