STUDYING MATHS AT KINGS COLLEGE

Can you study Maths at Kings College without taking Further Maths because I've only taken Maths with Statistics and I really want to study it at Uni. Also what grade do you need at GCSE to apply for the course? Thank you!

Hi,

Look at the KCL prospectus here: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/prospectus/undergraduate/mathematics/entryrequirements

It seems that you need further maths until at least AS level. Could you self study the AS units yourself over your course?

If there wasn't a possibility of being able to take FM at your school (ie: it's not that you had the option to do it but declined) then you should contact them and explain. If there wasn't an option at all for you to do FM they might accept an application without it, as long as you were doing some of the FM work in your own time.

With GCSEs you'll just need to make sure you meet their basic entry requirements, normally C or above in English and maths but you should check on their website as some universities want more than this.
