If your under anaesthetic surely that means you can't feel it so there's little to fear?

I'm not scared of actually having my teeth out, i've had that before, I'm scared of the actual general anasthetic cause I've never had one before and I don't really know what to expect.

Its fine , oyu wont be able to feel a thing. You should loook into it on the net and you will be reassured. when i had mine , i was really scared , but then afterwards i couldnt believe that i worried.. try searching about it , sometimees learning more about it helps.. and dont worry!

I'm just the same as you. Today i went to the orthadontist and they said i have to have 6 teeth out and maybe even braces as well.

I'm really scared too. But my dad says that you just have to go through the pain and think that this is helping my teeth in the long run!

Hope that helps! x

P.S. good luck!!!

how long did it take you to wake up, I'm told it takes about 10 minutes.

operation tomarrow morning, any advice?

Posted: 25-07-12 15:31 by Thegirlwhoknewtoomuch - Team GR

had the operation today, everything went fine and I'm feeling fine, my left side of my mouth is swollen, but it's going down, the anasthetic went well and was strangly enjoyable, when I woke up I felt like I had just been sleeping like normal and I was so comfy I just wanted to lie there forever, to anyone who is having a general anasthetic, don't worry, from my experiance they are actually quite relaxing, I had a dream too! Thanks for all the advice, it helped to make me less nervous.

just be a little bit self aware of yourself coz after the procedure, they'll ask you to gargle some mouthwash stuff and as you will be numb, you may look like a fool while you dribble the mouthwash down your chin..... its happened to me. :)

oh **** i just realised how late i was.... whooops.

thats ok, thanks. It turned out that the after effects are A LOT WORSE than the actual operation and experience, it gave me such a bad headache that i'm only just starting to get over.
