Russian anyone?

I was just wondering if anyone else studies GCSE Russian?

It is definitely not a popular subject by any means.

Yes I do. It is not offered in my school, so I went through a tutor and now must sit the exam in another school. It is not popular but I enjoy it so XD

I study Russian at GCSE! I really enjoy it to a certain extent; but I have a lot of trouble with the grammar behind it - when to change endings and such.

Я изучаю русский язык.

"эдэхсел. "

But it's being cut next year. Thers no money to teach subjects with small classes anymore.

I am studying it! So nervous about the Reading exam! And the Listening come to that!

Writing is fine though, I mean, you get a dictionary! Couldn't be easier! :-P

I study Russian, and I love it! It is brilliant, it is just a shame there aren't many resources to revise from (that I can find).
I'm upset though, as I was going to study it at A-Level as well, but it has been dropped from my planned College, so I may have to do tutoring with it, or something! More people should learn it, it is brilliant! :)

Is anyone else doing the gsce russian reading and listening papers tomorrow? edexcel board :)

Posted: 15-06-11 18:22 by Amy

Yes, I think Edexcel is the only one that offers it. I'm a little nervous to be honest. How are you feeling about it?

Good Luck everyone!

Same here. My 6th form isn't offering the A level course next year, and the only other place that does, is a private school and that's dropping it too! It's such a shame, because it's such a unique and beautiful language. You don't find that many people with a GCSE in Russian, especially compared to French, Spanish or German. Which lots of school's offer.

That was the question I found most difficult, and most of my class did too! Overall I think it went alright. I preferred the listening to the reading but both papers seemed straightforward. Now, we've just go to worry about the writing exam, which I am quite worried about...x

yeh there's only 6 of us in my class! and we all struggled on the last question on the reading. but the rest of it was mostly straight forward.

yeh im worried about the writing too :/ next tuesday isnt it? x

So, what did you all think of the writing exam?
