Posted: 23-08-12 20:33 by Layan<3

Thanks :) I'll need it xD don't worry, you'll get through it, it's hard, but not impossible :) It's a lot of work, but if you really work hard the whole year, you have less pressure at the end :)

Posted: 23-08-12 20:38 by Natalia

oh I hope so! so you revised through out the year? rather than months before!

Posted: 23-08-12 20:40 by Layan<3

well, I didnt' revise for maths.

For sciences- i had some units in January so i had to revise anyway.

But I got folders for my subjects, and every couple of topics I tried to summarise the stuff that we learnt, make notes, diagrams, mind maps and stuff :) It really helps, and by the end, i found out that I remembered most of the stuff. I think you just have to be organised and you can do it. For most subjects I started revising about march. You should find your own way of revising, I learn best by writing and making notes and summarising stuff. :)

Try and do a lot of past papers, to see what kind of questions you might get, and give them to your teacher to mark. This will help you to prepare for types of questions and improve your techniques.

Well, to be honest I don't revise for maths... xD It might seem weird but I have never in my life revised for Maths :)All I do is past papers before the exam and that's about it.

The key to maths is practice- you need to do a lot of questions to make sure you get it and then you'll be fine :)

I'm in year 10, I got 6 A*s and 2 As
the A*s were in english literature, maths, three sciences, RE
the As were in history and english language

I'm pretty happy with it, because I got  full UMS marks in biology and maths! xD

Well for me, in my school textbook there's loads of questions  with the grades marked on, so I practised all the A and A* questions :)
do practice papers, write notes, make posters, because writing down stuff really helps :)
also, in the exam, split your working out into stages- I did all mine in bullet points, it really makes it look organised and makes it a lot easier to get marks

I didn't revise that much for maths, actually...I was feeling down around exam time and couldn't be bothered to revise for anything, but I did a lot better in the end than I thought I did
