On amino acid structure and mirror images

  • 0 votes

Basically I understand a simple diagram of an amino acid but if I was asked to draw its 3D structure I would be completely clueless - I'd also be unable to draw the mirror image of an amino acid given one molecule...

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated :)

Which exam board are you doing because I don't think you are required to know the 3D formula of an amino acid.

And as for the mirror image it would probably help by drawing out the one amino acid first and draw a dotted line on the right hand side and literally put a mirror on the dotted line and copy down what you see in the mirror, onto the other side of the dotted line. Just for practice and then you'll be able to do it without using a mirror, hopefully.

Goodluck :)
