It won't be the representation of Britain so dont worry, the actual topic your referring to is national and regional identity. WJEC havent covered gender, national/regional identity or issues in the media exam yet. I have a feeling that we might get a clip of TOWIE which you could analsye in terms of regional identity as well as gypsy wedding.

Cross your fingers its gender though.

My teacher also thinks that national and regional identity will come up because it hasnt been in the WJEC paper before. Hopefully we'll get gender but because of the Olympics etc i think it will probably national identity.

I'd probably talk about national identity first so maybe how a country is represented in an international sports, maybe rugby and then for regionalidentity you could talk about how reality shows like Geordie Shore or The Valleys represent an areaand stereotype the people living in the area perhaps?Hope this helps!

I'm studying the same thing. You can talk about Eastenders and how it is linked in with London, films such as Harry Brown, Adulthood, Chelsea boys, ill Manors which is also linked in with stereotyping of teenagers within the media.

Then for Essex, you can talk about how The Only Way Is Essex represents the Essex region..

And so on..
