Anybody know the difference?

Mitosis results in two identical diploid daughter cells. It happens in normal body cells ('toes')

The chromosomes copy themselves and then the cell splits so that the chromosomes are identical to the parent cell.

Miosis happens in the gametes (sex cells). and this creates 4 haploid cells.

the chromosomes copy and split like in mitosis. Then the 2 strands in a chromosome split too.

so there are 4 different cells.

Sorry not a very clear explanation but hope it helps a little
