Mind maps now live on Get Revising

Showing 1 to 21 of 21

After lots of planning and testing we are now proud to say mind maps are now available for you to create on site.

We have taken on board your feedback about how you learn and continue to develop ways for you to create really valuable resources to share and test your learning.

We hope you like this new way to create resources and as always please share your feedback here and we will continue to build you new ways to create resources for yourself and others.

It's our pleasure, perhaps share a link to your mind map when you produce one so we can see how you use this? I find the use of colour for both the nodes and the lines really helps me remember associated items too.

The subscriber features allowing you to link to resources both on GR and on other sites are a great way to organise learning on a topic too. We also spent a fair bit of time on the Test yourself element allowing you to learn by rebuilding yours or other peoples mind maps.

Im so pleased you are getting value from this new service and keep telling us what you
Think and sharing mind maps you are proud of. :)

hi, sorry to sound stupid but how do you start of on the mind map thingy? I can't seem to get it to work.

Posted: 22-10-12 21:55 by Thegirlwhoknewtoomuch - Team GR

No worries, just add additional nodes using the + button on the left side of the nav bar. This will add you first new node and you can then click on this to rename or change its colour using the options at the top.

The fundamental here is select the node you want to add additional nodes to and then press the + sign. To add a link press the linked image (subs only).

Hopefully that gets you started but happy to help if you get stuck :)

Here is another I have made  http://getrevising.co.uk/diagrams/atom_structure

The only problem with this is that the main bubble should say History of Periodic Table but I can't seem to be able to change it

Thegirlwhoknewtoomuch .. play around with it for a while, you wil soon get used to it.. good luck !!

In general, I think this tool is my faouvrite but that is only because I reivse from my mind maps mainly. However, compared to other mind map websites I think the GR one is far one of the easiest to use... I like the fact that there are different colours, as colours is the key to my sucess ;) Once again thank you !!

Hi :) I LOVE the mind map :)

But is there a way to add pictures on mind maps? If we could, it would be fantastic

Hi Yerim

The current tool doesn't allow images to show but one thing you can do with the subscriber service is add links to resources on GR or directly to other sites. These open in new windows and provide a fantastic way of organising your learning. For example you could have a mind map for a topic breaking it down into the various elements and link off to relevant resources such as great quizzes or notes/cards for that element or to a wiki page on the topic for further reading.

I will add images into our development review list though to e considered further.

Great to hear you like the tool though :)
