2mx4m=8m, 2x3.5m=7m

8mx2m=16m, 7mx2=14m

3.5mx4m=14m

14m+16m+14m=44m

44x3m(for three rooms) = 132

132mx0.85=£112.20

112.20+(110X3)=£442.20

THe total cost of the 3 rooms is £442.20, so he can employ the painter.

Hope its not too late!!

Any questions, pls ask!
