I've been doing a sociology past paper, and this is one of the questions 'Examine the effectiveness of crime prevention strategies in reducing crime'. Does this mean in current society, such as ASBOS, or ideas put forward by right realists etc?

I am wondering what I talk about in the question. It is worth 12 marks. Do i talk about current measures such as ASBOS, Fines, CCTV or do I discuss what Right Realists/Left Realists/Marxists believe will reduce crime, such as Wilson's broken window theory or Left Realists multi agency approach? Thanks :)

Our teacher gave us this essay to plan in class and she said you could structure it using the different crime prevention strategies such as situational, environmental and social and then it allows you to mention theory as you go.
I can see how your idea works though and it wasn't a way that me or any of my class thought of so i shall suggest that to my teacher. Thanks :) Good Luck in your exam and everything
