Advantages

  1. Can help you with your work as your teacher doesnt focus on you as much as she has a whole class to worry about
  2. Can improve your grades a lot and help you with anything you want
  3. Their basically like a friend that knows a lot and helps you with whatever you want
  4. May have previous experience with exams as they are one of the marking people in the exam board so they know exactly what you need to do well and get those A*

Disadvantages

  1. Expensive
  2. May teach you differently then your teacher
  3. May have different opinions to you

Overall, if your really stuck on a subject then I recommned you get a tutor- however, the disadvantage is that you cant just get a tutor for just a on off lesson ... But if your really stuck then I recommend you get a tutor - my friend has one and she sais that it gives her more confidence. But do some googling on tutors and try to find a cheap one as some can be expensive. There prices vary from £15-£30 .... overall if you were faced with deciding whether you want a tutor or not then I say you should get one as they give you loads of extra help and can improve your grades! :)

i personally think working on your own is better but everyone is different try a tutor for a while and see how it works out for you. if you are a visual learner learning on your own is better XD

See if you work better on your own where you are at liberty to do what you feel is relevant to you, this is if you are very self motivated, however if you prefer structure and assistance in stufy a tutor would be the best bet as they can aid you to your maximum potential.x
