Add a chat room where students can talk to teachers

Showing 1 to 18 of 18

teachers will be able to give more direct answers to students rather than the student taking time to find what they are looking for.

yep, agreed, that is a brill idea, only problem is that when i'm on getrevising its usuall 3 in the morning, no teachers will be on it then :/

Also my parents are teachers and trust me no teacher can be bothered to help students outside of school because why would they?

They don't get paid and it eats into their free time. sorry that i look on the downside but i highly doubt many teachers even use this site anyway.

then getrevvising should employ teachers who work online at specifc times - i mean, they must be getting quite a bit of money for this website...

I think that this is a very good idea!

I dont think they have enough funding to employ teachers :/

No that is not a good idea no offence but what if the teachers were just talking to the kids it could be classed as paedophilia - i mean your not allowed to have teacher friends on Facebook because they could be fiend or put on the offenders list :Z

that's a bit extreme, obviously they wouldn't be discussing what they did at the weekend it would just be answering school and revision related issues. I personally think it's a great idea, loads of revision forums have teachers to help the students with questions; for example BBC bitesize have a few :D

i just think there should be some kind of professionals to help us.

Im being a pesimist i know, but teachers won't give their freetime up for random students, many don't even like giving free time to students in their own schools. The idea itself is a good one, somaybe GR could hire some adult helpers for specific subjects??

MOST teachers won't, but I know some do! For example my German teacher, we're on exam leave, but she's still there waiting for us every lesson, in case we nee her help :)

yes but she probably isnt going on here to help random students from other schools. shes paid to get the best grade possible out of you and your school so there is no motivation for a teacher to help random students. She may be a good teacher but its there job to teach ^^ its like a builder fixing a street for free the sake of doing it, which in reality probably won't happen if there is no financial/social gain.

I'm not saying it's common, I'm saying there are SOME who would :)

that is why get revising should pay teachers to help students.

I really don't think getrevising could afford to pay teachers. You've got to remember they only make money through advertising, and compared to other webistes, they don't actually get that many people on here.
