In the Cold War paper, if the question asks 'Do you agree with this source that...' do you only put your view? Or do you have to mention why people may disagree etc?

It sounds a bit of a stupid question but I'm just wondering whether you only give your view on why you agree/disagree, as sometimes in questions you are also expected to show why others may disagree

You need 3 paragraphs
1) Agree
2) disagree
3) conclusion

With the first two remember to include content, own knowledge and provenance( who, what, where, when, why) then you should get full marks. You only need your opinion along as you do an agree and a disagree paragraph

Kathryn Stephens approach is far too simplistic.

Answer the question in your opening sentence. So yes I do agree/do not agree with this view then give some reasons as to why you would INCLUDE CONTEXT (shows broader understand of the topic).

Just remember that when you are arguing in favour of your own opinion, evaluate and interpret the reason you are using and in the interpretation do be critical of your own view, although do not undermine your own opinion (as you may make yourself sound stupid).

Kathryn's 3 paragraph system works if you want a C but it is far too basic, it is the safe option however.

Thank you guys!

To be honest I would have though Kathryn Stephens approach would have worked, for your method Chris, do I separate my main view with then critical/limitiations of my point to show the other side? Thank you both anyway :)

Ahh, just realised that you are a GCSE student. In that case what kathryn wrote should be perfect. It's when you get to A2 that a lot of mumbo-jumbo happens :D

This is usually a 6 marker.

1) bias

2) reliable source

last 3 marks given for if you choose to agree or disagree.

for a rule of thumb. its usually disagree with the written source

And agree with an image

good luck
