i have a psychology exam tomorrow, can some one please tell me what operationalistion means in simple terms and give an example. ASAP thankyou

Operationalising variables means to clearly define the variables so that they can be measured. For example: if investigating affect of noise on concentration then the Independant Variable is the noise, and the dependant variable is the concentration.

If you operationalised these, then noise would be defined as "loud music" compared with "silence" in the two conditions, and concentration may be measured by "numerical score on a particular test".
