I'm doing AQA A2 PSYA3 And i was wondering if someone could help me split cue arousal into AO1, AO2 and AO3?

I just don't really get what information is classed at AO1 - the definitions, the studies, dates and stuff? Is that it? Is that all?

AO2 - is that like the evaluation of the studies? Is that just about the conclusions drawn or...

AO3 - I sort of get that this is a critique of the methods and validity like gender bias... but i'm still not clear

A01 - Is all descriptive of the theory. It includes some studies but not too many. Remember to include the psychologists name but the date they did there study is not important. Write in detail.

A02 - Is the evaluation of this theory through rejecting/ supporting research. E.g. A supporting study to this theory is done by *** they found that *** this supports it because ***. (identify, provide evidence, justify).

A03 - 3 points to criticise the study. I follow this pattern for answering (say for example i am saying the theory is reductionist)

-This theory is reductionist

-It is only talking about our nature and not our nurture

-A study by *** shows that nature is important. They found ***

-To improve the validity of this theory the diathesis stress model should be use because it takes into account nature and nurture

Does that explain it any better?

For the AO3 they say you need to include an issue, debate and approach in order to get above a C, as long as all three of those are in and explained it's all you need to do for AO3. Then the AO1 and AO2 is exactly the same as AS x
