farms. honestly you learn so much about welfare, reproduction, management. and at certain seasons you can get reall hands on experience. like lambing season. you can birth lambs, surogate them, setilise them neuter them. you learn 100% the basic skills you need for a job in animal care and there not hard to get into.

If you volunteer at a rescue centre in addition to work experience at a place like a farm or a vet, then it will show your future university/ employer that you have been dedicated to animals for a long time, and shows that you are prepared to work for it. Not many people would do this and so this would make you really stand out, and it would mean that you would have more to talk about in an interview.

my friend wants to work with animals too so I will try to give you some places in which u may want to go:

Pet shop (this is not really good though)
Zoo(so you can have a look around and learn a great deal about a variety of animals)
Animal farm(this is the best one because it's really practical)
Animal charity centre

Take a look at this website; it's for people that need some ideas for work experience :)

hope this helped and good luck :)

You might want to try stablehand, but you'd only get to work with horses

Make sure you write letters early because they are popular and otherwise you won't get in :)
