If I did French at GCSE, but decided to do it ab initio at IB Diploma would it reflect badly on my UCAS application?

I took French at GCSE and came out with a B grade. I then decided to take it on at Standard level, but since then have decided that in order to maximise my points on the IBDP I would like to take ab initio French as this will allow me to score more points.
