I really want to become a wedding planner.. any ideas what paths to go down?:)

Right now im studying psychology and law. Before i started my gcse's my mind was set on going into Dance and drama as I prefer doing more creative things, but since i've been very young I've always had 'wedding planner' at the back of my mind..

I've heard that you have to take art as a gcse/a level to become a wedding planner but honestly, i can just about draw a smiley face yet alone drawing statues etc!

If you guys could give me a rough idea on what to do, i'll be very thankful

You could possibly get some experience in event planning and management with local companies, maybe even start up a blog focusing on wedding planning i.e. interior designs, fashion, flower arrangements... With that you could get in contact with designers and others that like your ideas as well as building up a sort of portfolio for yourself.

+ There are quite a lot of useful 'how-to' videos on youtube that could help with the drawing aspect of it.

Hope this helps...

i have a family friend who is a wedding/ event planner and she went through a lot of work experience. i don't know whether this will be helpful as she ultimatly started up her own event planning business having left uni after getting bored to do her life planning. My advice is maybe try to contact a event plannig business and ask them what they find most desirable in someone and that should give you an idea on what to do next
