its when acid is added to an alkaline solution to find out how concentrated the acid is, you measure the acid used to neutralise the alkaline solution by reading the menicus. you do 1 divided by the reading of the acid used then times it by 1000. this gets you the g/dm cubed. then to find the purity or concentration of the solution  you do that divided by the volume of alkaline you used and timed by the mass. it's complicated, i've the exam tmrw aswell.... ****!
