how to tackle how science work questions i.e variables??

i get confused when it comes to questions asking for independent variables discrete ordered variables e.t.c...need help on how to tackle these..can somebody tell me what these variables mean??

Now independant variable is the variable you are changing which is the variable found on the x-axis on a graph. The dependant variable is what you are measuring and is usually found on the y-axis.

You just have to learn this there is no easy way around it as you always get questions like this!

Anyway i have a revision sheet on what you need to know for how science works questions have a look at it!!
