How to revise for Spanish gcse listening exams?

  • 1 vote

I'm finding it quite difficult to understand what the recording is saying when I'm doing past papers as it takes me a long time to process what's just been said and translate it to english in my head, but by then it's already moved onto the next question! What can I do to improve?

And I'd really appreciate if you know any good websites for listening. I already know that BBC bitesize is useful but are there any other websites?

Thanks!

For me, I found that doing past papers helped a lot, and also, since they give you quite a lot of time between each repeat of the material, look ahead to the next questions and get some idea of what you're looking for. The questions quite often make it fairly clear what sort of an answer they're looking for, so then you know what sort of words you're trying to spot :)

Hope this helps!

At the beginning of the exam they should give you 5 minutes to look through the paper. When you do this look at each question and try to guess what the possible answers could be, annotate any pictures or questions with these ideas. practice doing this for your exam.

  1. I am doing mine Monday and I'm stuck too. Our teacher says to watch films in Spanish but I don't really see how that's going to help, but hey I don't need an excuse to watch HP! I've also used the site below. the readings imo are better but some of the listenings are good and it will all help with vocab. Besides it's less to do for Thursday's exam too. Hope this helps! bueno suerte!: http://spanishrevision.co.uk/gcse/gcse_index.htm
