How to get motivated to do revision, to stop distractions?

  • 0 votes

Please can someone give me some ideas to get motivated to do revision, as I find that I switch off and get distracted by technology, which I am using to revise, but revision is just incredably boring. I try and motivate my self by thinnking what it will be like to get my results after putting in the work, but nothing seems to work!

Thanks :D

A way in which I find helpul when revising is by using the library in my Sixth form. I also think that you should maybe get rid of the things which distract you like you could make  a CD with music on which is not too boring but not too up tempo or you could just revise in complete silence. Let me know how it goes but I think phones and the internet are the biggest distractions.

You could get motivated by studying with a studious friend to get motivated. Plus if you want to avoid distractions of technology the simplest thing to do is get somebody to hide all of it from you somewhere it would take so long for you to find it you may as well just have done the revision. Then when they feel you have done a sufficient amount of study they could allow you to have them back. Also clear your mind of everything else and zone yourself into your revision as if your life depends on it. Remember revsision could be the difference between a lot of grades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't need the internet to revise, if you print out your resources then you can hide from technology.

I agree to nazya, ask your parents to block you from the internet or take your phone away.

not all the time because from the internet you cna download past papers though the best thing to do would be to print them or ask your teachers to print them off for you

My parents are paying me £1 for every hald an hour that I do to go towards my prom dress! That has motivated me very well ;)

My attention span is awful, I'm 16 and it's between 10 and 15 minutes, 20 at a push. I work for however long I can without getting bored or drifting onto facebook etc, then stop for 5 minutes. I'll read or have something to eat, then get back to revision...

Was that actually relevant? Hope that helps XD
