How is GCSE Lit exam set out?

These are probably stupid questions to ask but;

How is the question/s set out?

Will we be able to have the book/poem in the exam with us?(I dont think we can)

There are two units (WJEC), will one be about Of Mice and Men and will the other be about A View from the Bridge?

Thanks loads, our teacher has told us nothing about this, plus we have only studied Of Mice and Men and A Christmas Carol (Which unit will this come in??) we still need to read A View from the Bridge.

Thanks for any help :)

hey :) im doing the aqa board so i cant help much, but have you looked at past papers ??? it might help.. - it looks similar to the aqa board..

in section a - you are given an extract from "Of Mice and Men" and you are expected to answer question a and either b or c

in section b - you are given two poems which you have to compare..

past papers should help give you an idea

Thanks for your help Secret, i didnt even think to look at past papers, i will look at them now.

Do you have to learn all the quotes and things for the exam?Or will you have access to the books in the exam?

I just felt a bit silly asking it because it's a question that i probably should've known the answer to

Sorry to keep asking loads of questions but, on the WJEC website, for unit 2 we only get given paper A OR B dont we?? or do we have to do both papers?

I think we just get given one??

Thankyou lots and lots :):)

ur welcome :)

im not doing the same board so I'm not totally sure but in the Aqa board you are allowed to have the book with no annotations on.. so it might be the same.. but ask your teacher just incase

and about the unit 2 again im not totally sure but it makes sense only doin one paper, this is the 2a paper..

have you studied any of those books in that exam paper.. if not your most likely not doing it..have you got your exam timetable because i will say it on that..
