How do you guys work out moles?

I get so confused :s

It depends what data you have.

When you have masses, the following calculations are used:

Mass = Moles x Molar mass

Moles = Mass/Molar mass

Molar mass = Mass/Moles

With atoms or molecules, the calculations are:

No. of particles = Moles x 6.02 x 10 to the power of 23

Moles = Particles/6.02 x 10(23)

For solutions:

Moles = Concentration x Volume

Concentration = Moles/Volume

Volume = Moles/Concentration

And finally, gases:

Volume = Moles x 24

Moles = Volume/24

Mass = Moles*Mr

so, Moles = mass/Mr
