how do you differentiate x/2?

the power of X is 1, you times the equation by the orginal power

so X/2 x 1 = X/2

now the power is reduced to 0 (power of n is differentiated to n-1)

when any number is to the power of 0 it equals 1

so (X^0)/2 = 1/2

2/x is 2x^-1, so it is just -2x^-2
