# How do you convert micrometres?

I'm doing a unit 2 biology AQA resit, and everytime I do a practice paper a question asking for magnification or actual or observed measurements come up, I know the triangle equation but I don't know how to convert them from macrometres to cm, micrometres or vice versa, help would be appreciated !

If you think of it like this:

m ---> mm ---> um (micrometres) ---> nm

Just remember that and then:-

---------->>> if you go forwards, each time, : multiply 1000

m ---> mm ---> um (micrometres) ---> nm

<<<---------- if you go backwards, each time, divide by 1000

From what I know you could be asked to give it in any units, so... Hope I've helped!
