How can I get top marks for a geography essay at A2 for the AQA board?

I need help in how i structure or take a certain approach to starting a 40 mark essay. It would be helpful to get an idea of how other people look at physical or human essays as I struggle to even plan mine. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks. :)

Well, I'm doing OCR A2 but I'm guessing it's pretty similar but if not ignore this!

What I do is look at the keywords in the question;

If its a human question you can often split it economic, social, environmental

If its physical question about causes its often human vs physical

Physical question about managing the impacts you can often structure it into modifying the event, loss vulnerability

And in all of them to further subdivide you can split it either developed vs developing countries or short term vs long term!

I don't know if that helps at all!

Which essay? The 10 or 15 mark, this may seem silly but it does matter! :)

@Charlotte: the boards do seem similar and with my next essay I will give it a try. The physical one sounds very similar to a tectonics essay and the human one well i think i have to try and adjust what i know to those three sections. Thank you :)

@Rhys: It is the 40 miark one at the end where you have to choose a topic that you haven't already answered in the structure questions. But while you have mentioned a 10 mark, how would I go about looking at that? Thank you :)
