how can a change in the climate cause some species to become extinct?

If the weather/climate changes, species will not be adapted so they'll die out.

Like if the ice caps melt, polar bears are not well adapted to hunting in water (they rely on ice) so they might eat less and soon die out because they can't hunt in the sea. Seals are much better adapted for life in the water so they will be able to swim away easily. Polar bears are furry, fat animals.
