History Modern World [GCSE]

Showing 1 to 2 of 2

I'm currently doing History Modern World at the moment. I don't understand and take information in during lesson. I understand and remember, but all of a sudden when it comes to a mock exam; I get F. Do you have any tips you could give me. I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

I have put on some revision notes about the modern world history exam. I think that lots of dates and events are forced down your ears but they dont seem to come into much use. In the exam, you wont be tested on questions like 'what was the date of the bay of pigs?' for example. I have found that if you just learn the overall events and a brief outline of what happened, then it seems to be enough. The questions want you to mainly interpret information and put in your own opinions. If you can explain a few points about an event, but then back them up with your own points on whatever the question is asking (e.g. How does this show tension during the cold war?) or whatever, then you should be fine. Sorry for waffling and hope this was something you needed.
