32 √2=2^a

32 = 2^5

√2= 2^1/2

So, therefore- 32*√2= 2^5 * 2^1/2 (add the powers as you're multiplying it) = 2^ 5 + 1/2= 2^11/2

So,  a=11/2 or 5.5

Using logs -

32sqrt(2) = 2^a

log 10 (32sqrt(2)) = log 10 (2^a)

log 10 (32sqrt(2)) = a log 10 2

So a = log 10 (32sqrt(2)) / log 10 2 = 5.5

or simply log 2 32sqrt(2) = 5.5
